Our Executive Director Tracee Patterson has over 25 years of executive management, community engagement, grants management, and educational consulting. She has collaborated with a diverse group of professionals from various disciplines and sectors including federal, state, local, higher education, health, and religion-supporting nonprofit organizations. Her leadership roles have allowed her to demonstrate high levels of success in community consensus building, stakeholder outreach, and program development amongst diverse cultural populations throughout metropolitan Detroit, Michigan.
A few of her most recent roles include: executive consulting with the CEO/President of the Horatio Williams Foundation in Detroit, serving as Director of Operations and Outreach for the Detroit-based Sickle Cell Disease Association of America, and Educational Consultant for Eastern Michigan University, all which have enhanced her skills to provide key project successes, impassioned and increased support for communities LifeSmart Education and the communities we serve.
She is most proud of her work leveraging community networks to expose Japanese and Spanish languages and culture to underrepresented students in Wayne and Oakland, Michigan counties. Serving as founder, lead instructor and administrator of the Kids Explore Japan Program™ where she has managed a dedicated team of remote instructors that deliver Japanese language instruction in five school districts in southeast Michigan has brought valuable opportunities to school districts and those same language programs will be replicated here in Columbus.
Tracee embraces a transformational leadership style where collaborators and community partners feel seen, valued, respected, able to contribute, and receive mutual benefits when serving the community. Tracee's experience working in community outreach and engagement brings an abundance of strength to the organization and will take LifeSmart's programming to the next level.
